What happened and why you should care
On October 22, 2026 Anthropic announced it is donating Agent Skills to the Agentic AI Foundation. Skills started as a Claude feature, were published as an open specification at agentskills.io in December 2025, and are now moving to neutral governance. Anthropic's newsroom lists the donation next to OpenAI's Open Responses, which the foundation also took on the same day.
