🦟Mosqitter Expands AI-Powered Mosquito Traps Globally
Mosqitter's AI traps are on the rise
TL;DR
Mosqitter's AI-powered mosquito traps are now in 5 continents, up from 250 devices in 2022. The company plans to introduce Febris Monitoring System next month, adding a data layer to predict disease risks.
Mosqitter, a 30-person startup, is expanding its AI-powered mosquito traps globally to combat the spread of dengue and other mosquito-borne diseases. With over 5,000 devices in operation across five continents, the company is now focusing on turning its traps into an AI-powered monitoring network. The system can identify mosquito species and track changes in their numbers, providing early warnings about emerging disease risks. Mosqitter's flagship product, Mosqitter Grand, is designed for larger areas and public spaces, while the Mosqitter Mini targets smaller residential spaces. The company plans to introduce its Febris Monitoring System next month, adding a data layer to monitor mosquito populations and assess the potential spread of mosquito-borne diseases.
Key Points
Mosqitter's devices lure and trap female mosquitoes, mimicking human cues, without chemicals.
Mosqitter's AI system identifies mosquito species by running images through a neural network.
Mosqitter's Febris Monitoring System will forecast changes in mosquito populations and health risks.
Mosqitter Mini retails for $199, while its professional Grand system costs $1,999.
Mosqitter plans to raise $5 million in two tranches, with revenue from Febris projected at $3.5M next year.
Why It Matters
If you're in a region where dengue cases are rising, Mosqitter's AI traps could be a game-changer. The company's Febris Monitoring System, launching next month, will provide early warnings about mosquito population changes and potential health risks. However, the $1,999 price tag for the Grand system might be steep for smaller communities.
