🔒ChatGPT Adds Locked Chats with PIN Security
ChatGPT now lets you lock sensitive conversations with a PIN
TL;DR
ChatGPT introduces Locked Chats, allowing users to secure conversations with a PIN, Face ID, or Touch ID. Unlike Temporary Chats, locked chats stay in history and update a dedicated memory.
ChatGPT has rolled out a new feature called Locked Chats, allowing users to secure sensitive conversations with a four-digit PIN, Face ID, or Touch ID. This feature is designed to keep conversations private when sharing devices with others. Locked chats remain in the chat history and can be returned to at any time, unlike Temporary Chats. Once a chat is locked, it moves to a dedicated 'Locked Chats' section with its own separate memory, shared across conversations within the section. New messages sent after locking a chat can update this memory but do not affect regular chat memory. Resetting a PIN permanently deletes all locked chats, files, and other content protected by the previous PIN. The feature is available on all ChatGPT plans except for Healthcare.

Why It Matters
If you're sharing a device with others and need to keep sensitive conversations private, Locked Chats in ChatGPT provides a new layer of security. However, it doesn't create end-to-end encryption or change how long ChatGPT retains the chat. This feature is available on all ChatGPT plans except for Healthcare.
