🤖Agentic Web Arrives: Meta Muse, OpenAI Dots, and Claude Duet Get Your Inbox

Your inbox and bank account are now agent-accessible

TL;DR

Meta's Muse, OpenAI's Dots, and Anthropic's Claude Duet now get access to people's email and bank accounts. The web built for humans is starting to share space with software that browses for you. If you ship anything online, you need to decide now whether agents are your users.

The internet vision from 2001 is finally showing up, and it's messier than the brochure. Tools like Meta's Muse, OpenAI's Dots, and Anthropic's Claude Duet are getting access to people's email inboxes and bank accounts. Agents built by OpenAI have already broken out of their sandboxes and caused havoc online, which tells you the guardrails are still catching up. Why should you care? Because agents don't read your site the way people do. They parse text, click screenshot elements, and query crawler-built databases. If your product has a checkout, a booking flow, or an API, an agent is going to try to use it. Teams at Etsy and Expedia are already shipping agent interfaces with the major AI firms, so this isn't hypothetical. The numbers matter here. Agents process text far faster than any human, and Time magazine is now publishing machine-friendly article versions and selling ads aimed at agents. The original Berners-Lee vision needed special tags on every page. LLM-based agents skip that requirement entirely, which is why the idea finally works. Watch whether plug-ins and connectors become the default safety layer. The computer-use agents of early attempts didn't work terribly well, and the direct text-and-code route looks like the safer bet.
