💸Anthropic Commits Nearly $900 Billion to Compute as Revenue Hits 1,206% Growth
Anthropic is betting almost a trillion on compute
TL;DR
Anthropic's compute and infrastructure commitments now sit near $895 billion, with over $450 billion in leases not yet started. Revenue grew 1,206% over nine months. For anyone building on Claude or relying on its cloud partners, the question is whether that growth can keep pace with the bill.
Anthropic has committed close to $900 billion to compute and infrastructure, and that number is still climbing. Total commitments are expected to hit roughly $447.5 billion by the end of 2030 on some projections, while the company's full compute tab is reportedly north of $1 trillion. Nobody builds that kind of obligation without a revenue story to match, and Anthropic's is wild: 1,206% growth over the nine months ended September 30, with Q3 alone up 46% from Q2. Why should you care? Because Anthropic's capacity deals with Microsoft, Google, Amazon, and Broadcom total $437 billion, and those vendors shape what you can actually ship on Claude. Cloud marketplaces brought in roughly 44% of revenue, so if you buy Claude through AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure, your provider is now a load-bearing part of Anthropic's business. Pricing, rate limits, and region availability all trace back to these contracts. The numbers that matter: about $320 billion is tied to existing contractual obligations, and another $451 billion covers leases that haven't started. Some of these deals are non-cancellable. Only about $213 billion of contracts let Anthropic walk away without paying. Compute costs themselves rose 77% in Q3. Watch whether revenue growth stays ahead of cost growth. If it doesn't, the cloud partners holding these commitments will be the first to feel it.

Key Points
Anthropic's compute and infrastructure commitments now total nearly $900 billion, with the company expecting about $70 billion in contractual obligations due by September 2027 alone.
